Taking Thank You Beyond Words On Veterans Day #Wahl1kPic

There are so many simple ways to say thank you to our veterans and servicemembers on Veterans Day that go beyond words.  Perhaps one of the most powerful things we can do as a nation is to take a moment to remember the veterans that came before us and reflect on how our world is a better place because of the sacrifices they were willing to make on our behalf.

Many of us don’t have to look very far to find a veteran.  Some of us come from families steeped in military tradition; we have fathers, mothers, uncles, aunts, and grandparents who served and now our husbands and wives continue to carry on that noble family tradition of service before self.

I come from one of those families. I am a proud daughter, niece, cousin, sister, and wife in a family that spans the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force.  On Veterans Day, I find myself reflecting on how lucky I am to have shared so many wonderful moments with my military family and how amazingly selfless my veteran family members are.

This summer, Wahl and Military Spouse Magazine asked military families to capture and share a special moment for a chance to win $1000. Even though there was only one winner, they received so many heartfelt photos that they decided to put all of those moments into a special Veterans Day video to show their thanks to our veterans and their families.  Watch Wahl’s Veterans Day video below:

How do you commemorate Veterans Day?  What makes it special for your military family?  How do you go beyond words?
