Press Release: Top Military Spouse CEOs Announced

Thirteen Military Spouses given Top Military Spouse CEO Awards for event at Association of the U.S. Army Exposition in Washington, D.C. on October 21-23, 2013

Washington, D.C. — has announced the Top Military Spouse CEO Awards. The award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs from the military family community who are experiencing success and have demonstrated a commitment to serving the military community. Collectively, these thirteen entrepreneurs represent businesses committed to representing military spouses in the entrepreneurship arena, to helping other military spouses with their businesses, and to providing employment for military families. The finalists and winners were selected by an independent panel of judges and will be honored by being provided with a booth free of charge at the nation’s largest Defense Industry Exposition, the Annual Meeting of the Association of the U.S. Army (AUSA). Last year attendance at the event neared 30,000.

2013 marks the first year for the event. The organizers are legal, marketing, and media professionals who conceived the idea when they realized barriers prevented most military spouse businesses from attending an expo in their ideal market: military contractors and related businesses. AUSA’s Assistant Director of Industry Affairs, Alex Brody, quickly agreed to help: “Everyone here at AUSA is very excited about this initiative. It’s a great addition to our Annual Meeting and we’re pleased to support it.”

The booth and activities are provided thanks to generous donations from AUSA, Armed Forces Insurance, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Veterans United Home Loans, InGear Career, and UPS. The booth will hold CEO spotlights for the winners, author-led book signings, sponsor giveaways, and mentoring opportunities throughout the three days of the conference.
