March 2014: Spring Into Action

Facebook Cover March 2014

Here it is, mid-month, well past my window to wax poetic about our motto for March, Spring Into Action, but I’m going to throw all caution to the wind and do it anyways because it’s never too late, right?

Right.

In full transparency, I’ll admit it. I am not winning at chipping away at my personal goal list for this year.

Getting to the gym 5 days a week is not happening.

Consistent meal planning?  Nope.

Finding the right work/life balance <insert bitchy tone and annoyed face and too aggressive air quotes here>. Ha!

Waking up each day at 6am? <snort>

The worst part is that I know exactly why I’m not able to proclaim victory on any of these seemingly simple goals…I failed to spring into action.  (See what I did there?)

How many times have you said any of these to things to yourself:

“I’m not starting on this midweek! Monday sounds like a good day to start.”

“Ugh, it’s just pointless. We’re leaving in a year or two anyhow.”

“I really want a job/to save/to get healthy, but I just don’t know where to start.”

“Tomorrow.  I’ll start tomorrow.”

Now is the time. Not tomorrow.  Not next week or month or year.  Not next assignment.

We have got to stop living our lives ON PAUSE.   Yours truly included.

It’s never going to get any easier than right now to kick my life into high gear.

I can’t afford to not meal plan because I can’t afford to continue outsourcing dinner.

I have to get up at 6am or every day is going to seem like I’m running around with my hair on fire.

If I don’t hit the gym, I’m going to turn into a raging-child-consuming-husband-attacking-stress-monster.  Okay, so maybe I’m mid-transformation, but it’s time to turn it around.

And if I don’t find a way to make this crazy thing I call my life work, I’m going to burn out and end up in a hospital.

Now has to be the time for me to spring into action because…well…he’s leaving in a few months and it’s just going to be me for a year.  It’s time to bring my military spouse A-game to the table.

So what are you waiting for?  Get up offa that thang!  Tell us what’s got you springing into action!
